He was born in the city of Zacatecas, in 1932. He studied at the National School of Architecture, in Mexico City, and then went on to study at the High American School. Since 1956 he has presented exhibitions of his work in Mexico, the United States, Japan, Puerto Rico and Brazil. He has won the Córdoba Prize in São Paulo, Brazil, (1965) and the First Prize at the Tokyo Biennial, Japan (1975).
